Phone Wireless Charger

Charge Your Phone From Anywhere With a Wireless Charger

If you’re still using wires and cables in 2018, it’s time you were brought into the future. That ugly tangled mess of wires that used to dominate our homes? Gone. It’s all about wireless technology and the freedom of abandoning cables for good. Because who wants to be tied down anyway?

A good number of us are spending time on the move, out and about, and we want our devices to cater to that. In an increasingly fast-paced world, people want things that are portable and able to function in an instant, from anywhere and everywhere. Enter wireless chargers.

It doesn’t make sense to have all these fancy apps and features on our phones if it just kills the battery within a few hours. Wireless chargers are the answer to drained batteries halfway through a day (or worse, halfway through a flight). They allow us to be more mobile, for life to be more convenient, and for our smartphone usage to never stop.

In this article we’ll look at the wonderful world of wireless chargers, the different options and technology available, and why they’re a great way to put your brand name out there.

What is Qi wireless charging?

Qi is the universal standard for wireless charging of battery-powered devices. It comes from the Chinese word for ‘energy’ (otherwise known as ‘chi’), and describes the transfer of power through electromagnetic induction.

It’s all quite fancy, but basically, a wireless charger (the Qi sender) will be enabled with a Qi charging transmitter, and a device (the Qi receiver) will have the necessary technology to receive its energy. You can then charge your phone by placing it on the device (or within a very, very short distance).

Phones with built-in Qi wireless charging

In order to use Qi wireless chargers, your phone will need to be enabled with the Qi technology. If it’s on the list below, then you’re ready to go and just need a charger to make it all official. The great thing is that all Qi-enabled wireless chargers can be used on all devices, so if you’re giving out branded wireless chargers, they can be used by anyone on any device that’s compatible.

  • Apple iPhone: 8, 8 Plus, X
  • Samsung Galaxy: S9, S9+, Note 8, S8, S8+, S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge
  • LG: V30, G6 (US version only), G4 (optional), G3 (optional)
  • Microsoft Lumia: 1520, 1020, 930, 929, 928, 920
  • Google Nexus: 4, 5, 6, 7 (2013)
  • BlackBerry: Priv

Alternatives to Qi chargers

While Qi is the standard, there are plenty of alternatives for on-the-go device charging. From USB-enabled power banks to solar-powered chargers that are great for camping trips, the types of wireless chargers out there are various. There are different speeds available, different strengths, and different looks depending on your target audience and their needs.

If you’re looking for a unique way to promote your brand in 2018, while simultaneously delivering a lot of value to the modern day consumer, then branded wireless chargers are a great option.

More than just a wireless charger

While the first Qi-enabled wireless chargers did only that, the technology has come a long way since then. A charger is no longer an ugly wire connected to the power outlet. A charger can be an alarm clock, a table lamp, a furniture accessory.
